Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation (PE) occurs when a man experiences orgasm and expels semen soon after sexual activity and with minimal penile stimulation. It has also been called early ejaculation, rapid ejaculation, rapid climax, premature climax, and (historically) ejaculatio praecox.

The problems of premature ejaculation, which could be because of physical, physiological, psychogenic and organic cause may disturb the entire rhythm of sexual life, hence, need to be addressed to, seriously.

Men, who experience premature ejaculation, frequently question their masculinity and lose confidence in their sexual performance, which often leads to feelings of lowered self-esteem. Furthermore both the partners suffer negative feelings about the experience and continuation of such problem can lead to serious relational conflicts and more sexual problems in marital life. The problem can occur in all sexual situations, including masturbation, or during sexual encounters with another person.

Premature ejaculation is the most frequently self-reported male sexual dysfunction, occurring in about 50% to 60% in men of all ages. Many men who experience premature ejaculation feel frustrated and even ashamed. It may help you to know that this problem is common and often very treatable.

Ejaculation timing is not related with the length of intercourse duration. The act of ejaculation stands with number of strokes and during Sexual intercourse a healthy person can effortlessly go between 150 to 300 strokes (Depending upon their general health conditions) after penile penetration in vagina.

The person who is suffering with PE can go up to 20 strokes and very long standing and chronic condition person ejaculates before or immediately after penetration of vagina.

Remember premature ejaculation is the first sign of an erection problem. Men who develop erection problems may develop Premature ejaculation as a compensatory mechanism (Physiologic responsiveness of cardiovascular system)

A recent news study has found that 65% of man with erectile dysfuncation (ED) are unable to have an orgasm and 58% have problems with ejaculation. While severity of dysfunctional ejaculation and orgasm is correlated with ED severity, these issues were still surprisingly common in men with very mild ED.
